Oblong + Bridge
Suspended Equilibrium
Inspired by a streamlined shape, this 925 silver vessel is heavy and unstable by nature. I wanted to see the base of this Kiddush cup suspended, as if floating above the Shabbat table. The shape of the bridge, as a connecting space, intrigued me with its symbolism of connection. Placed on its arch, the glass remains removable, creating a docking ritual between two interdependent elements.
The piece questions our own need for anchoring: the object only finds its function and stability when it agrees to rely on another.
Entirely handcrafted in 925 silver in Israel, these cups are plated with 24K gold on the inside. Each Kiddush cup is welded and shaped in my workshop, making every piece unique.
The accompanying bridge is crafted from maillechort (nickel silver), an alloy specifically chosen for its technical properties and structural rigidity.
This is a limited series of 9 Kiddush cups.
